Radiator Towel Rails
A simple handmade steel towel rail designed to hang over a double-panel radiator. It provides a convenient place for drying towels, warming pyjamas or keeping clothes ready for the morning.
Choose the rail length, radiator depth and colour from the options above. Each rail is made to your selected measurements.

- Rail lengths from 30 cm to 80 cm
- Radiator depths from 60 mm to 100 mm
- Ten colour finishes
As standard the rail is made with a 30 mm gap between radiator and rail, and to suit a 20 mm gap between radiator and wall.
Changes to the gaps in front and behind the radiator can be entered in the customisation box when ordering.
Suitable for the double-panel radiators shown in the photographs. It is not suitable for single-panel or traditional column radiators.

Made to order in up to 7 working days. Courier delivery usually takes a further 2–4 working days, giving an estimated delivery window of 9–11 working days from ordering.
Returns
This product is made to your individual specifications or customised for your order, so the usual change-of-mind return right does not apply.

Measuring guide
Rail length
Select the overall length of towel rail you need. Check that it will fit comfortably across the radiator and within the surrounding space.
Radiator depth
Measure the full thickness of the radiator itself, from its front face to its back edge. Select the matching radiator-depth option. If your measurement falls between the listed sizes choose the larger size. If the radiator depth is not within the smallest and largest options contact me before ordering. Deeper radiators can be accommodated with further considerations.
Gap behind the radiator
The standard design allows for 20 mm between the back of the radiator and the wall. If your gap is different, enter the measurement in the customisation box—for example, “gap behind radiator 10 mm” or “gap behind radiator 30 mm”.
Space in front of the radiator
The standard towel rail sits 30 mm in front of the radiator. A larger space may be useful for thick towels or where a towel will be folded over a shorter rail. Enter the required measurement in the customisation box—for example, “space in front 40 mm”.
Radiators vary considerably, so please measure carefully. Contact me before ordering where the measurements or radiator style are unclear.
Customisation examples
Leave the customisation box empty where these standard measurements are suitable:
- 30 mm gap in front of the radiator
- 20 mm gap between the radiator and the wall
To change either measurement, enter the requirement in the customisation box. For example:
- Gap in front 40 mm
- Gap in front 50 mm
- Gap behind 10 mm
- Gap behind 30 mm
Where both measurements need changing, enter both instructions:
"Gap in front 40 mm. Gap behind 15 mm"
A larger gap in front may be useful for a thick towel or where a towel will be folded over a shorter rail.
For an unlisted rail length, radiator depth or a more substantial alteration, contact me before ordering so I can confirm that it can be made to fit.
Fitting the rail
The towel rail arrives ready to use and simply hangs over the top of the radiator.
No drilling, screws, tools or permanent fixing are required.
The rail can be lifted off whenever you need to remove or reposition it.
Check that the top and rear of the radiator are accessible and that its shape allows the supports to hang securely. Where the radiator has an unusual grille, cover or profile, send a photograph before ordering.
Colours and custom colours
Standard colours are Black, White, Dark Green, Light Green, Dark Blue, Light Blue, Red, Orange, Yellow and Pink.
Please contact me for a RAL reference for any particular colour. Colours can look slightly different on screen depending on the device and lighting.
For a colour that is not listed, contact me before ordering. A custom powder colour normally has a setup charge of approximately £15–£20, depending on the finish.
Multiple items in the same custom colour incur one setup charge rather than a separate charge for every item.
Radiator compatibility
These towel rails are designed for double-panel radiators like those shown in the product photographs.
They are not suitable for:
- single-panel radiators
- traditional column radiators
