Metal Garden Sphere Sculptures
A handcrafted steel garden sphere featuring a bold flower pattern inspired by the flower-power designs of the 1960s and 1970s. The flower design and rustic tones give it a striking yet gentle presence outdoors.
Each sculpture measures 50 cm high × 50 cm wide × 50 cm deep. Each flower is individually cut, shaped and welded by hand to in my Norfolk workshop.
Choose a fully developed rusted finish or clean ready-to-rust steel that can weather naturally, be encouraged to rust or be painted to suit your garden.
The sphere is supplied with a sturdy ground peg for positioning in soil. A small stand or alternative fixings for patios or other hard surfaces can be made by arrangement.
The combination of geometric structure and floral detail works equally well in contemporary courtyards, traditional borders and more natural planting schemes.
Estimated delivery
Made to order in up to 12 working days. Courier delivery usually takes a further 2–4 working days, giving an estimated delivery window of 14–16 working days from ordering.
Returns
This product can be returned if you change your mind.
Please let me know within 14 days of receiving your order if you would like to return it. You then have a further 14 days to send it back.

Your statutory rights are not affected if an item is faulty, damaged or not as described.
Positioning and fixing
Each sphere is supplied with a sturdy ground peg for positioning in soil, borders or lawns.
The peg helps anchor the sculpture on uneven or sloping ground. Push it firmly into suitable soil and check that the sphere is stable before leaving it in position.
For a patio, paved area or another hard surface, I can add suitable fixing points such as bolt holes with stand-offs.
A free-standing base, similar in principle to a plant stand, can also be made where ground fixing is not preferred or possible. Contact me before ordering to discuss the surface and the most suitable arrangement.
This is a decorative steel garden sculpture, not a toy. Position it securely where it will not be climbed on or used for play.
Rusted and ready-to-rust finishes
Choose between a fully rusted finish or clean bare steel that will develop its own patina over time.
Rusted: the sculpture arrives with an established natural rust patina. The colour and texture will vary slightly from piece to piece because the finish develops naturally. Product photographs show examples after approximately four to six months outdoors in Norfolk UK.
Ready to Rust: the sculpture arrives freshly made in clean, bare steel. It can be left to rust naturally, encouraged to rust more quickly or painted to suit your own scheme.
As untreated steel weathers, it develops warm, earthy tones that deepen and change with age.
Developing and preserving the patina
Ready-to-rust steel can be left outdoors to weather naturally. Rain, moisture and changing conditions will gradually create a varied rust patina.
To encourage the process, lightly mist the steel with salty water and allow it to dry outdoors. Repeat as required until the colour begins to develop.
Once the patina reaches a colour you like, a light coat of linseed oil or Danish oil can help preserve its appearance.
Applying oil will soften and slightly deepen the patina colour. Test a small area first where the exact appearance matters.
Left untreated, the steel will continue to weather and evolve naturally through the years.
Handmade construction and natural variation
Each sculpture is individually cut, shaped, welded and finished by hand in my Norfolk workshop.
Small differences in shape, weld detail and surface texture are part of its handmade character. No two pieces will be completely identical.
Natural rusting also varies according to rainfall, exposure, salt and local conditions, so every patina develops differently.
Custom orders and commissions
Many products can be adjusted in style, size, finish, fixing method or construction.
Where a customisation box is shown, use it for straightforward instructions that do not change the basic product, such as peg positions on plant stands, small clearance changes or additional information about your requirement.
